This project is a primary deliverable under the workplan for the Tahltan Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas (IPCAs) Project. Under the IPCAs Project, we are looking to understand what the value of the services our intact ecosystems provide is, and in addition, to understand whether there are any opportunities available to fund our long-term stewardship initiatives through the conservation of the ecosystem services in our territory. This includes an analysis of carbon capture opportunities of forests and wetlands, and other ecosystem services such as water filtration. The project has been expanded to consider opportunities within the territory as a whole and will not be limited to areas considered under the IPCA project. 

The climate change resilience aspect of the project seeks to understand the ways in which conservation of our intact ecosystems can contribute to climate change resilience as well as the ways in which we might be able to increase resilience of our ecosystems to changes that are anticipated in the climate of our territory over time.
